From May 7-11, Earth Ministry/WAIPL staff Keah Calluccie and AC Churchill joined with Interfaith Power and Light (IPL) affiliates from across the US for our annual National IPL Conference in Washington DC.
Keah and AC met with several Washington delegation congressional staffers and brought concerns around proposed expansion of fossil fuels via GTN Xpress, the urgency of finding just solutions for salmon and river recovery, as well as lifting up support for federal policies like the Recovering America’s Wildlife Act. Keah and AC also dropped by the majority of other offices to share the faith leaders sign on letter regarding GTN Xpress and the WA Catholic Bishops’ statement on need to care for creation and recognize Native Nations as the principal dialogue partners when addressing the endangered salmon population of the Lower Snake River.
