Traveling Climate Change Display

University Congregational UCC’s Sacred Earth Matters Committee has created a traveling climate change display that you can host at your house of worship, school, or community organization. The display is often used in conjunction with an educational climate change program, and is available for use one month at a time. Its purpose is to dramatically raise awareness, educate, encourage, and motivate collective and personal action.

The display has 4 double-sided 8’x8’ (LxH) panels with detachable 8’x2’ (LxH) tops. The panels can be arranged in a line, a zigzag, a semi-circle, etc. It is divided into 3 sections with photographs and graphs arranged in the following order:

  • examples of the natural and human world we want to save (green background)
  • examples of the destructive things we are doing to the entire planet (black background)
  • what humanity can do to halt and reverse climate change (green background)

Prior to the COVID shut down, it had been displayed at 5 churches and was very well received. It is hoped that the display will inspire those who view it to press for more urgent action on this existential crisis.

The display requires 2 people and a 15’ U-Haul truck to transport and a 10’x10’x6’ (LxWxH) space to store.

Please email Bill Viertel at bcvie@frontier.com for more information and to request the display in your community space.
