Maria Thompson (she/her)
Maria Thompson is a development professional, spiritual director, and writer with a passion for the wonder of the natural world and its beloved creatures. She has held executive management positions in higher education and social service nonprofits and served as a spiritual director for the Transforming Leadership Project, part of her private practice as a spiritual retreat facilitator and spiritual director. A Christian contemplative with roots in the Lutheran tradition, she has helped faith communities and individuals perceive and attend to the movement of the holy in their lives. She comes to Earth Ministry/WAIPL with environmental justice as a dynamic key centerpiece of her own spiritual practice.
Maria holds a Masters of Arts in Transforming Spirituality from Seattle University and a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from the University of Washington. In her off hours, she writes fiction, takes long walks with her dog, and photographs the transfixing beauty of creation for a Visio Divina practice.
