Multifaith Programming

As a faith and spiritual rooted organization, we occupy a unique space in the environmental world. While we work to build bridges between different sectors for environmental benefit, we also want everyone’s whole self to show up. Not simply the environmental side, the scientist side, or the faith/spiritual side, but who you are as a person that has multiple facets within. We want your authenticity, your conviction, your spirituality, and your faith to show up in spaces with the environmental concern to do this work as a proud person of faith or conscience!

Whether your community is looking to connect with other sacred communities across the state, leverage state funding opportunities for energy efficiency work, or bring Earth Ministry/Washington Interfaith Power & Light (EM/WA IPL) to give an adult education class, or you want to know what state wide programs we provide, EM/WA IPL has something for you!

Ongoing Campaigns

Seasons Programming

Focusing on three key areas of our work (energy, health, and water) our seasonal programs will enrich the work that we are already doing and provide opportunities for new community engagement as we put faith into action for the well-being of communities and the environment. The offerings change yearly so check them out!

CETCAP

Earth Ministry/WA IPL is working with Lawyers for Good Government (L4GG) to help sacred communities (e.g. churches, temples, synagogues, gathering centers, etc.) take advantage of the benefits that the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) provides with the Clean Energy Tax Credit Assistance Program (CETCAP).

IRA

Houses of worship now have easier access to clean energy funds and tax credits through a program called “direct pay.” Before the IRA, only homeowners and commercial entities with some tax liability could claim tax credits when installing solar panels, wind turbines, or other eligible technologies on an eligible property.

Greening Congregations

The Greening Congregations Program offers a partnership with Earth Ministry/WAIPL and a flexible strategy for engaging your faith community in environmental action. This program supports your congregation as you envision and celebrate the “greening” of many different areas of your community’s life.

Adult Education Workshops

Earth Ministry/WAIPL is happy to lead an adult education class for your religious or spiritual community. Our interactive workshops help participants discover and share why they care about creation as a people of faith and conscience, then connect those values to taking action on current actions and campaigns that work towards environmental justice.
