With our new solar referral program, Earth Ministry/WAIPL and Sphere Solar Energy are working together toward these shared goals:

Earth Ministry/WAIPL has chosen to partner with Sphere Solar Energy because their commitment to equity is at the forefront of their work. Sphere Solar Energy views energy as being a basic human right so long as it is sustainable and does not infringe on the rights of others. Not only is accessible solar energy important to Sphere Solar Energy, but who is doing the work and how it is being done is also important. Sphere Solar Energy works with Local 46 Electrical Union to ensure that workers are compensated for their hard work in a way that provides care and compensation to workers and results in quality work.
Sphere Solar Energy’s dedication to being and helping environmental stewards means that their residential and commercial solar projects, job training and educational programs, and their nonprofit, Sphere One, combine to expand access to affordable clean energy in underserved communities around the state and the globe to enable fairer opportunities to displace carbon-based energy systems which compound inequalities and social injustices. Their work around the state has allowed them to do work around the globe in places like Kenya and Puerto Rico to live into their mission of making solar energy more accessible on a global scale. And now, they are now looking to work with faith communities wanting to go solar!
To help increase access to solar, the Sphere Solar team seeks to connect customers with current solar incentives and match non-profits (including houses of worship) with the best grant opportunities and financing partners. If you are eligible for benefits like the solar investment tax credit available through the end of 2022, Sphere Solar will walk you through the application and contribute technical information where it is needed as well as furnish design updates and cost estimates if the grant is awarded.
As a small nonprofit, Earth Ministry/WAIPL’s solar referral program is significant in helping us expand our reach and achieve our goals for a more just and sustainable future.
