Dear Earth Ministry/WAIPL community,
Hello! My name is Nancy Osborn Nicholas and I am the Interim Executive Director for Earth Ministry/Washington Interfaith Power & Light. I am honored to be here in the wake of LeeAnne’s leadership and am excited to help guide Earth Ministry/WAIPL in this time of transition and growth.
I grew up in Washington state, living for a time in three areas: the coast (Hoquiam), the front range (Renton), and in the Palouse area (Pullman). In every place the abundant beauty of our state inspired me to seek ways to protect its natural wonder and human communities. It is a joy to have this opportunity to advocate for environmental justice together as people of faith.
In the next months, I will be working with Earth Ministry/WAIPL staff, board, and stakeholders (you!) to develop and define the vision for EM/WAIPL going forward. Based on this vision, we will seek out our next permanent Executive Director. I look forward to hearing about what Earth Ministry/WAIPL means to you and what makes this community special. You can reach me at nancy@earthministry.org.
It is an exciting time for Earth Ministry/WAIPL!
In faith,
Nancy Osborn Nicholas (she/her)
Interim Executive Director
From our EM/WAIPL Board Chair:
Welcome Nancy!
The Board and I are delighted to have the opportunity to work with Nancy over the next few months as Earth Ministry/WAIPL continues to lead the faith community in powerful advocacy and support for the environment and those with whom we share this planet. Her experience and wisdom will add to the strength of the organization and guide us through the transitions ahead during our search for our next permanent Executive Director.
In faith and hope,
Rev. Laura Baumgartner (she/her)
Board Chair
