The faith community showed up in strength to support SB 5141 (the HEAL Act) at a March 12 House Environment and Energy Committee hearing. We’re grateful for all who signed in “pro” in support of the bill.
A big thank you to Mario Villanueva, the Executive Director of the Washington State Catholic Conference, for testifying and stating that “WA State has a responsibility to take meaningful steps toward equity and how we can address the climate crisis.”
Earth Ministry board member and Madrona Grace Presbyterian Church parishioner Anna Dyer also testified with her five month old Samuel. “I’ve heard other new parents joke that it’s gonna be up to our kids to make the world a better place, and that’s not acceptable to me. We have moral clarity now and it’s time to act.”
