Healing Our Throwaway Culture: A Focus on Plastics

Download the free the Catholic Climate Covenant’s 2024 Earth Day program, “Healing Our Throwaway Culture: Focus on Plastics,” which lifts up our responsibility “to live faithfully in Christ, in the midst of this culture of waste” and complements the secular Earth Day theme of “Planet vs. Plastics.” You can use this one-hour program individually, with your family, or with your parish, school, or religious community. The program includes prayers, readings, reflection and discussion questions, a short video, and ideas for individual and community actions. The Facilitator Guide also makes it very easy to host a community-wide program! The program is intended to commemorate Earth Day (April 22) but can be used at any time that fits your family’s or community’s schedule. Besides using it on or near Earth Day, many are scheduling a community program during Laudato Si’ Week (May 19-26).
