This summer and fall we’ll be traveling around Washington state to connect with the Earth Ministry/WAIPL community! Our Harvest Hoopla tour will center relationship building, celebration, and raising funds for our collective work of turning faith into action for environmental justice.
Throughout July, August, and September the Earth Ministry/WAIPL staff and board will be visiting cities throughout the state for casual get-togethers. We will gather at houses of worship, parks, and coffee shops, all with the hopes of getting to know each other better, many of us meeting for the first time in person since the global pandemic began in 2020. While we can’t visit every place in the state this year, we hope to see many of you at one of our gatherings, including a virtual Zoom gathering). Most in-person gatherings will be held outside for COVID safety reasons.
- Sun, July 31: Bellingham, Center for Spiritual Living (the Multifaith Network for Climate Justice’s Sacred Earth Fair), 1-5pm
- Tue, Aug 9: Tacoma, Wapato Park, 6:30-8pm
- Sun, Aug 14: Olympia, Olympia UU Congregation, 3-4:30pm
- Thu, Aug 18: Seattle, Capitol Hill (RSVP for exact location), 6:30-8pm
- Thu, Sep 8: Virtual Online Gathering (Zoom), 6:30-8pm PT
- Sat, Sep 17: Yakima, Collaboration Coffee, 12-2pm
- Sun, Sep 18: Walla Walla, Pioneer United Methodist Church, 3-4:30pm
- Tue, Sep 20: Spokane, St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 5:30-7pm
I hope you can join me for one (or more) of these joy-filled events. If you can’t attend a Harvest Hoopla event, please consider making a donation to support Earth Ministry/WAIPL. While the Harvest Hoopla is a fundraiser, it’s not just about the funds – you, the Earth Ministry/WAIPL community are our most valuable resources. Together, we’ll get to know one another better and tell stories from our faith-based environmental justice work as we celebrate all we’ve accomplished together! There is no cost to attend a Hoopla event.
I look forward to seeing many of you soon!
Blessings,
