This season, we are delighted to offer a renewed Earth Letter, just in time for some holiday reading. As you may have heard (a few times this year!), we celebrate our organization’s 30th anniversary this year, so Board Chair Laura Baumgartner and Advocacy Manager Sarah Robinson decided to bring new life to this amazing piece of Earth Ministry/WA IPL’s legacy.

Below you can see excerpts from articles in this issue of Earth Letter. We are honored to feature a piece from our new Advocacy Manager, Sarah Robinson on her experience from the 2023 All Our Relations Free the Snake Journey. You’ll also see stories from Earth Ministry/WA IPL’s faith community partners in the Goings On, reflecting on how they have implemented practices and teachings from Earth Ministry/WA IPL into their own faithful environmental care.
Other articles by Rev. Laura Baumgartner showcase thirty years of Earth Ministry/WA IPL’s faithful action through archival examples, and a circular meditation to help remind and reconnect you with the breath of life flowing all around us. You will also find testimonials throughout the letter from some of the many community partners who have helped to support, guide, and sustain this amazing organization for thirty years and beyond.
It is our hope that these stories both feed your spirit and inspire continued action.

Grounded in Faith:
An Interview with
Rev. AC and Rabbi Molly
“I see the possibility of a world where we could have access to clean air, clean water, and where your zip code doesn’t affect your life expectancy. I see the possibility of a world where human involvement in the environment isn’t always seen as a pejorative, and our connection to the natural world is a benefit. We’re not just extracting. That vision is what energizes me and nourishes me for this work.”
~Rev. AC Churchill (they/them)
