Blessings on the Journey: a final farewell from Executive Director LeeAnne Beres

Dear Earth Ministry/WAIPL community,

Well friends, here it is: the last message from LeeAnne at Earth Ministry. Today is my final day as Executive Director, and I wanted to wish you a fond farewell.

I announced my departure back in July and have spent the last 40 days wandering in the wilderness… just kidding! I’ve been hard at work tending to transition tasks to ensure that this organization that we all love is ready to welcome exciting new leadership in the months ahead. That important work is done, and I am confident that I am leaving Earth Ministry/ WAIPL in a strong position to explore its next phase.

As I said in my announcement message, these 16 years have been the most fulfilling, joyous, and purpose-centered work of my life. I’ve been proud and honored to work with you – this fantastic community of people who are passionate about putting faith into action for the common good and who live out that commitment every day. We’ve accomplished so much together and made great memories along the way. I look forward seeing what comes next, joining you down the road as a dedicated member of the Earth Ministry/WAIPL community and cheering the organization on as it grows and changes in the future.

It was wonderful to celebrate with many of you at my going away party last week – your kind words and fabulous stories filled my heart to overflowing. I also appreciate all the reflections that have been shared online, and Jessica wants me to remind you that you can still send a note for my memory book! I’ll treasure all these messages in the days to come. You can also reach me in my new position as Deputy Director of Washington Nonprofits, at LeeAnne@washingtonnonprofits.org.

In the near future, you’ll be hearing more from our Board Chair, Rev. Laura Baumgartner, as Earth Ministry/WAIPL moves forward with hiring an Interim Executive Director. You’ll also meet new program staff who will be joining the team to help Jess and Maddie carry on our important work supporting congregations and organizing faithful advocacy. It really is an exciting time for this community!

Thanks again from the bottom of my heart and blessings on the journey ahead.

Yours,
LeeAnne Beres (she/her)
