Seattle Tilth Master Recycler ComposterAre you passionate about resource conservation and want to inspire others? Join a dedicated group of volunteers that are teaching their communities how to conserve natural resources through composting, recycling, food waste reduction and natural yard care.

Seattle Tilth manages three Master Composting and Recycling education programs, and are accepting applications for spring training now! Participants receive 28-35 hours of training (depending on the program), then commit to 35 hours of volunteer service sharing what they’ve learned with friends, neighbors and the general public.

Volunteers work in diverse environments according to their own interests, from tabling at farmers markets and community festivals, to helping a local school manage a cafeteria waste sorting station, or building a garden compost system. Volunteers also receive ongoing mentoring and support, and can attend field trips and workshops throughout the year.

There are three programs to choose from in Seattle, the Eastside and South King County. Requirements and training start dates are as follows:
