Summer 2013 Earth Letter

summer2013

In this issue of Earth Letter, we explore the concept of Sabbath — taking time out of our hectic days to rest, reflect, and be open to a presence greater than ourselves. The concept of Sabbath is one that is honored across the Abrahamic traditions of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Slowing down one day a week benefits not only our own mental, physical, and emotional health but the health of the planet as well.

This issue includes:

  • Finding Your 24/6 Rhythm in a 24/7 World by Matthew Sleeth
  • Be Still and Know that I am God by Deanna Matzen
  • An Auto Sabbatical by Jessie Dye
  • Give the Earth a Sabbath Day by Christopher D. Ringwald
  • Connecting the Jewish Sabbath to the Environment by Baruch Sienna
  • The Sabbath Effect by Rev. Rebekah Simon-Peter
