Comment on Coal Export in Longview, WA

rev. Liv Larson Andrews at Spokane Coal Rally

The values that ground us as people of faith call us to prevent the pollution of the Columbia River River with what could be the nation’s largest coal export terminal. Not only that, but this moral faith foundation compels us to to stand up for impacted communities and ecosystems all along the path of this dirty, dangerous, and antiquated project.

This round of public comment on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) is our last chance to tell decision-makers that far and wide, religious communities want a clean and healthy future – not coal. To clarify, this comment period is directed to the Army Corps of Engineers, whereas the last round of comments you may recall were to the Department of Ecology and Cowlitz County leaders.

Submit your comment below to add your voice to the ranks of people of faith reminding our leaders that it’s far past time we power past coal! Or speak up in person at public hearings in Longview on October 24 and in Ridgefield on October 25.
