Interfaith Petition to President Biden at COP26

The United Nations will be holding its climate talks, COP26, in Glasgow, Scotland, during the first two weeks of November. In these weeks leading up to the conference, people of faith around the world having been outspoken and united in calling on their leaders to take bold action for climate and communities. In an unprecedented act of unity, religious leaders of the Roman Catholic Church, the Eastern Orthodox Church and the Anglican Communion released a joint statement warning of the urgency of environmental sustainability, its impact on poverty, and the importance of global cooperation in this critical moment. We are heading into the COP26 with great momentum and hope for change, inspired by the actions of people of faith.

The U.S. signaled that it is serious in its commitments to the global community when President Biden rejoined the Paris Climate Agreement at the start of his presidency. Now, we must go beyond leading in rhetoric and move to leading in action with serious and ambitious investments.

Please sign this faith community petition to President Biden, which will be delivered during COP26 in Glasgow.

We are joining with National Interfaith Power and Light to gather signatures from people of faith around the country on a petition to President Biden, urging him to be a leader in climate crisis response at COP26. Let’s demonstrate that people of faith in the U.S. are watching the negotiations, and urging the U.S. to do its fair share at COP26.
