Fall 2023 we sent out a survey, asking community members to share what support would be beneficial as we looked to enrich our offerings for faith and spiritual communities.
One answer was clear, there was an overflowing request for more trainings and resources connected to issues like “Finding Hope in the Climate Crisis,” “Access to Renewable Energy,” “Food, Agriculture, and Faith,” “Ways to Build Environmental Justice Movements: Across Generations,” and more!
To all those who shared their thoughts, thank you! Your guidance has helped us learn more about what is important to our faith and spiritual community partners.
In response, we are planning a new thing for 2024. Shaped by your input and the guidance of the seasons, we will be dividing the year into four seasons of programming. These new program offerings will enrich the work we are already doing and provide opportunities for new community engagement.
Spring: Season of Hope
As we settle into the renewing energy of Spring, it is important to take time to acknowledge our individual emotional and spiritual health. Acknowledging our mental and physical state is only one part of the equation, though. We also need to find ways to embrace practices of mindfulness and communication to build resiliency in the face of climate change so we do not burn ourselves out or fall into despair.
During Spring we’ll offer a training on resilience and a book discussion on The Animals’ Lawsuit Against Humanity.

Summer: Season of Energy
As we swing into summer, Earth Ministry/Washington Interfaith Power & Light is taking the time to celebrate our Season of Energy. Our community is no stranger to the fact that basing an economy on fossil fuels is not taking care of creation nor good for long-term prosperity, nor is our community a stranger to all the work that goes into making renewable energy and energy efficiency a standard in communities across Washington. So, we want to celebrate and educate in all the ways you, your communities, and the state can engage with the different facets of energy conservation in Washington. From big projects like solar, to small scale, accessible, home DIY efficiency project, we want to nourish our communities desire to change!
Fall: Season of Harvest

Swinging from Summer to Autumn welcomes a wondrous reprieve. Whether it’s shifting from a busy activity-filled Summer days and nights to intentional Autumn gatherings, taking stock of the rapid change in landscape, or using this transitional season to prepare for harsher weather, Earth Ministry/Washington Interfaith Power & Light seeks to make the most of an intentional Fall season.
Our focus this year is our 31 Days of Harvest where we will spend daily time meditating on topics such as food, meaningful gatherings, ancestors, animals, and more! We will provide daily moments to take a breath, reflect, and reconnect with ourselves, loved ones, and the Earth.
Explore our Season of Harvest webpage to read through the daily meditations as they come out!
