Earth Ministry Eco-Tour of the Holy Land

In late January 2009, Earth Ministry co-founder Carla Pryne and Executive Director LeeAnne Beres led nineteen Earth Ministry members and friends on an eco-tour to Israel, Palestine and Jordan. 

The twelve-day pilgrimage included a tour of biblical, cultural and historical sites; learning about the ongoing Israeli/Palestinian crisis; and gaining an understanding of current environmental issues in the Holy Land, with an emphasis on water.

The group met with natural resource experts, Palestinian Christians working to protect their communities, a prominent Jewish eco-theologian, representatives of local environmental organizations, and many others who shared their passion for peace and sustainability in this sacred land.  Long-time Earth Ministry member Doug Thorpe provided a reflective component to the tour with much-appreciated prayers and poems.
