Sermons
One of the best way to educate people of faith is to preach sermons that encourage Christians to care God's gift of creation. If you are new to the concept of creation care, you may want to begin by learning more about eco-theology, the theological basis for caring about God's creation.
Earth Ministry's Caring for All Creation curriculum provides sermon starters related to specific environment issues such as transportation and climate change, sustainable agriculture and organic/locally grown food, energy efficiency and environmental health, water conservation and river restoration.
Creation-honoring sermons can be preached throughout the year. See the section on The Liturgical Year for Lectionary resources and special worship service ideas.
If you do not use the Lectionary, you may want to choose a scriptural text from our extensive list of Hebrew Bible (Old Testament) and New Testament scripture.
