Lectionary Resources
Creation-themed commentaries, reflections, sermons, and other resources related to the Lectionary readings.
If your church uses the Lectionary readings, there are several resources that can help integrate creation-themes into your worship services.
New Proclamation: The Essential Pastoral Companion for Preaching, Year A, B, and C
Designed for those who use the Revised Common Lectionary, the Roman Catholic lectionary, and the Book of Common Prayer. It offers creative links to literature, spirituality, and the socio-cultural scene in addition to historical and exegetical reflections on all the biblical texts. It helps preachers develop effective, gospel-centered sermons faithful to Scripture and the liturgical seasons, true to the Christian tradition, and relevant for our day. While not focused on creation, the authors incorporate creation where applicable.
Preaching Creation Throughout the Church Year
by Jennifer M. Phillips (Boston: Cowley Publications [2000]). Provides creation-honoring reflections that coincide with the three-year lectionary cycle.
The Episcopal Diocese of Minnesota hosts pages devoted to environmental and earth-centered reflections, sermons, and commentaries on the lectionary readings. These readings are filed by liturgical year (A, B, or C).
Web of Creation provides a list of prayers written to follow the church year calendar and intended to be used as the Prayer of the Day and/or the first petition of the Prayer of the People.
