Colleague Support Program

- An Earth Ministry Colleague proudly displays her church's banner at the 2007 Step It Up march and rally for climate change.
Earth Ministry "Colleagues" are church-based organizers who encourage their congregations to be more informed about and involved in honoring God’s creation. They are volunteers who live in Washington State and represent over one hundred and fifty congregations across a wide denominational spectrum. Colleagues introduce members of their congregations to creation care through many different dimensions of congregational life, including worship experiences, maintenance of buildings and grounds, community outreach, and denominational, ecumenical and interfaith partnerships.
We invite all Earth Ministry members in Washington State to become Colleagues in their own congregations. Our Colleague Support Program can help to strengthen your own efforts with the following resources:
- Individual Consultations: Whenever Colleagues would like to explore ideas and resources, our staff welcome calls, letters, emails, and visits.
- Colleague Consultations: Colleagues from across the region come together twice a year for fellowship, networking, and learning.
- Greening Congregation Partners: This program provides a guide and support for congregations that want to cultivate creation awareness and care. You will find this program outlined on our Greening Congregations page.
- Other Support: Speakers Network (preaching and Adult Education workshops), Earth Ministry printed materials, and our Resource Collection.
The Colleague Support Program is a benefit of membership in Earth Ministry – memberships begin at $35 and up, and you can join through our secure website.
