July 7-11: Holden Village Retreat

August 2: Hike in Paradise--Mount Rainier National Park

Earth Ministry Retreat at Holden Village
Monday, July 7 —Friday, July 11

Join Earth Ministry staff and other members for a week of reflection and rejuvenation at Holden Village, located high in the mountains above Lake Chelan.  There will be opportunities to participate in Earth Ministry-led workshops on our Greening Congregations program and environmental advocacy, as well as meditative hikes in the Railroad Creek Valley and surrounding mountains—all in addition to the regular Holden summer program offerings.  This is a great chance to connect with others on faith and environment in a wilderness setting!

Registration information is available here.  We hope you can join us!

Hike In Paradise: Mount Rainier National Park
Saturday, August 2, 9:00am-4:00pm (plus driving time to and from park)

Join Earth Ministry staff for an inspirational hike in Mount Rainier National Park on August 2!  We plan to hike from Paradise to Panorama Point via the Skyline Trail—the route offers views of high peaks and distant valleys as well as the beauty of nearby wildflowers and sub-alpine greenery.

This will be an all-day outing, so plan to pack your own lunch, snacks, water, and weather-appropriate clothing.  We’ll hike at a moderate pace and make frequent stops for reflection and refreshment.  A leisurely lunch will be in store when we reach Panorama Point.

Please sign up ASAP so we can help organize carpools and finalize plans for the day! The park charges a $15 per car entrance fee, so there is an added incentive to carpool for this event.  E-mail Beth Anderson (beth@earthministry.org) or call the Earth Ministry office at (206) 632-2426 to register.  Also, feel free to e-mail Beth with any specific questions/concerns about the hike itself.

There is a suggested donation of $10 for this hike to support Earth Ministry programs.
